Inspired by The Block 2020 – Week 5 Guest Bedroom Reveals
This week we have seen more gorgeous bedrooms revealed! The balance between style, practicality and budget can be a tough one. Here are our two top tips to achieving great, affordable style.
Unexpected elements
Choose one feature of the room that is a bit unexpected, or different from the norm. Sarah & George’s beautiful royal blue curved bedhead is a great example of this. Had this bedhead been a more traditional straight edge it definitely wouldn’t achieve the same visual impact!
Luke and Jasmin used the elephant mounted under the bunk as a surprise factor. While their room has TONNES of fun elements, the adorable elephant on the wall takes it to the next level.
Shop your home
Harry & Tash’s room inspired us to consider shopping our home for items that could easily be multi-purpose. The lamp could easily work in a bedroom, office or living space side table. Select an armchair that could double as an occasional chair or office chair. Choose accent cushions that you can rotate between your bedroom and lounge when you want to switch things up.
If you are re-vamping your space but don’t want to spend on all new items, consider shopping what you already have and then select just a few new high-impact items to invest in.
